Collection: Iljun Choi

Iljun Choi works based on craft techniques and experiments with metal materials, exploring the unclear boundaries that separate concepts such as three-dimensional and two-dimensional, reality and distortion.
The metal substances he paints on the screen form crystals or change color depending on chemical reactions. His relationship with the material is similar to the relationship between a director and an actor. The writer acts as a director, sets the flow and boundaries, and acts as an actor, watching and recording what the metal object does.
He was selected for the German International Silver Triennale and the Cheongju Craft Biennale, and has participated in over 40 group exhibitions, including <Eggs to Apples> (Shinhan Gallery), <Times of Shaking> (SeMA Bunker), and <Stereo Vision> (Seosomun Castle History Museum). He held four solo exhibitions: <From an Invisible Power> (Gallery Living), <Red Mass> (CICA Museum of Art), <Wallow> (Show & Tell), and <Initial Phase> (Hpix).
