Collection: Studio Seungbin Yang

Seungbin Yang is a multidisciplinary designer who creates various objects through traditional crafts and storytelling.

I graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in the Netherlands with a bachelor's degree in Public Private and a master's degree in Contextual Design. Afterwards, I worked and operated a design studio, Studio Seungbin Yang, in Eindhoven, Netherlands, and currently run a design studio in Korea.

Starting with the '21g' series, the author continues with the 'Lacquered Forms' and 'Simulacre' series. Through research on applying lacquer, which was traditionally applied to wooden objects, to various physical properties, we create three-dimensional objects using paper, which is considered light and weak, and apply lacquer on them.

Afterwards, in the 'Requiem' series, he produced works that combined archaeological fiction with objects based on the artist's own storytelling.

The artist's works are displayed in the permanent collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), a royal museum in London, England, and the Stedelijk Museum, a modern art museum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
