Unlike the FLAT series, which expanded PLA panels using aluminum as a connector, JUL Table Stand Lighting attempted to hide the exposed connections between panels.
Therefore, we came up with the T&G wood panel method, commonly called louver, among solid wood materials.
The PLA panels were inserted into each other in a male and female manner, and grooves were made in the panel like a connection part, and when expanded, the connection part was designed so that it would not be visible.
In this shape, regular grooves have the same aesthetic as the 'joints' found in tiles and louver plates.
The housing of the lighting device is also made of PLA material, which subtly exposes the internal structure and naturally shows the connection between the metal lighting legs and the shade.
The ON/OFF method applies a full switch like FLAT wall lighting, alleviating the mechanical properties and cold image that the material can give, and using an analog method.

Cibi Cibi Studio is a design team comprised of designer Joo-kyung Ahn and metal craftsman Yu-min Jeon. We explore materials, processes and concepts. Although it is based on metal work, it is not limited to genres and studies various other materials that can be combined with metal. When combining materials, we pursue a direction that can preserve the characteristics of each material and the identity of the object in question. We discover different characteristics and textures through an understanding of materials, and research and produce which objects they are suitable for. This process may begin with simple curiosity and is inspired by a variety of concepts. We hope that the objects we create will bring about a combination of senses through the user's usage environment and the unconscious actions of the user using our objects. We seek to reflect the uniqueness of each user by incorporating the time the user has enjoyed into our objects. We aim to build our own wide spectrum by presenting works combined with various other materials without compromising the depth of the metal work that forms the basis.
