Dong-Hoon Son is the founder and designer of Atelier SOHN. Based on his observation of the materials and forms around us, he identifies the properties and variables of objects and defines areas in which designers can intervene. Through this approach of finding a point of contact between the designer's thoughts and the properties of objects, he is presenting works that pursue a transformation of the senses by redefining the process. He graduated from the Department of Design at Korea National University of Arts and developed his capabilities as a designer at Samsung Electronics for about six years starting in 2010. In 2017, he graduated from Ecal's Advanced Master's Program in Design for Luxury and Craftsmanship and received a doctorate in design from Seoul National University in 2023. We have shown our work at domestic and international exhibitions such as Design Miami, Milano design week, and Baselworld, and have so far carried out collaborative projects with global luxury brands Bottega Veneta, Vacheron Constantin, Rimowa, Christofle, Chopard, and Hotel Trois Couronnes.
