I believe that the succession of tradition is not about continuing the form of a craft, but about capturing the emotions and thoughts contained in it. Unlike the small tables in other regions, the Gangwon table has a unique, simple aesthetic with minimal decoration, and is faithful to the basics, making it simple yet efficient. We attempted to reinterpret the characteristics of Gangwon Soban in a modern way using metal materials.

Instead of flashy decorations, the Gangwon Soban is made up of the basic shapes of the top, pan, pancake, plate, and pedestal, and their joints are boring but have a deep flavor that you won't get tired of. The most focused study is ‘connection’. We focused on how to reinterpret the weaving of wooden furniture into metal.

We reinterpreted the weaving of wooden furniture using rivet joints through metal forging and forming. In order to ensure the simplest and most efficient configuration in the manufacturing process and results, no welding technology was used, and the top, wing, and legs were interconnected without any additional materials such as wedges and riveted through forging. In addition, by using aluminum, which is about 1/3 of the weight of steel, as a material, it has the same light weight as wooden furniture even though it is metal furniture, improving usability.
