- From Gangwon Soban I believe that the succession of tradition is not about continuing the form of a craft, but about capturing the emotions and thoughts contained in it. Unlike the small tables in other regions, the Gangwon table has a unique, simple aesthetic with minimal decoration, and is faithful to the basics, making it simple yet efficient. We attempted to reinterpret the characteristics of Gangwon Soban in a modern way using metal materials.
Instead of flashy decorations, the Gangwon Soban is made up of the basic shapes of the top, pan, pancake, plate, and pedestal, and their joints are boring but have a deep flavor that you won't get tired of. The most focused study is ‘connection’. We focused on how to reinterpret the weaving of wooden furniture into metal.
